How to avoid Getting fat? Control your diet!
Everybody is aware that eating fast food is a problem for your diet. But how big of a problem it really is? Well, the problem is not in the processed parts themselves. It is not a healthy practice to eat junk food, but if you eat just enough to keep you well fed you will be ok. The problem is that even small portions of fast food contain just too much calories. Let alone the virtually not present vitamins and crucial minerals, a big cheese burger will give you more than 1400 calories. If you are training a sport or your work is connected to weight lifting it will be ok, but for a regular person that goes to work with car and never moves on foot this is just too much. Because of the way the humans developed throughout the evolution, our body tends to transform excessive calories to fats and distribute them around the body to have a reserve for “hungry times”. Not a bad idea for the pre-historic men and women who could always stay with no food for days and weeks but deadly for the modern human, as hunger is virtually no threat in a modern Western country, and the fats that build up cause heart conditions, strokes and other life threatening conditions with alarming frequency.

If you avoid foods with high glucose content (yes, BigMacs and French fries are such, also pastry, white bread and all sugar products, including Coca Cola) for most of the time your body will have the time to deal with the rapid changes of blood sugar levels that such foods cause with no major ill effects. If you eat too much too often of such foods and do not combine with “healthy” ones, like fruits and vegetables, you risk a condition in which your organism will start requiring more and more sugar to store, and you will feel constantly hungry, even though your weight raises all the time. Such condition is called “glycemic volatility” and with the time will cause bloods vessel problems, problems with internal organs, brain etc. If you add brown rice, grain foods, any type of vegetables and fruits, you will feel even healthier and feel even better.
If you succeed in fighting against the desire to have another BigMac you may actually prolong your life with many years and feel much better throughout these years, not a big price to pay for such benefits, right?
